Lifecycle of a draw

Zcash shielded transactions are not programmable smart contracts. ZecVault is explicit about which step runs on-chain, which runs off-chain, and how each one can be checked.

    Operator publishes a hash of its secret seed before any entry is accepted.

    You send a shielded transaction with your entry commitment in the encrypted memo.

  3. 03Off-chain

    Freeze

    At the deadline, all commitments are sealed into a Merkle snapshot root.

  4. 04Public

    Draw

    Seed + future beacon round + snapshot root derive the randomness and winners.

  5. 05Verifier

    Claim

    Winners reveal a nullifier and a fresh shielded payout address.

  6. 06Zcash

    Settle

    The treasury pays out on Zcash and the ledger is reconciled.
